Have you ever been just struck by color? Often when I see blue and green used together it makes my heart flutter just a little.
The crayon blue green was my favorite as a kid and was always the first one worn to nothing. Not realizing the "blue" was the modifier to the name "blue green" it always made me think the the the "green blue" and "blue green" crayons were mislabeled. Did you think this too?
Today, when I saw my email, I was struck harder than usual. I just fell in love with the color palatte of this Pendleton Woolen Mills blanket for Willamette Valley Wineries.
From the site: The artist, COURTNEY CUNNINGHAM, is an Oregon native raised in the Pendleton area, near the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Her childhood memories recall the ever-present Pendleton patterns that decorated native American ceremonial dress, padded saddles at the iconic Pendleton rodeo, and wrapped fabric bolts of remnant weaves in sale bins that she searched with her mother at Pendleton’s original Woolen Mills, founded in 1909.
A Willamette Valley resident for the past two decades and member of its wine industry for 15 years, Courtney marries the colors of wine country’s bucolic landscapes with classic Pendleton shapes to render a design that evokes the history and beauty of both regions.
